The discussion about the Alabama Rig really got me thinking. Does anyone else have unique ways of rigging up their lures, or ways that you have wanted to try but didn’t for some reason? For example, multiple worms on a drop shot? I know people might not want to give away their secrets.
Hopefully there is something out here, creative maybe even a little crazy!
I’ve never rigged multiple lures when going after bass because all of the tournaments I ever fished had a one hook per rod rule (1 crank counts as one hook).
I have rigged things differently then suggested though. For example, I use to rig flukes upside down to better immitate a dying shad.
I do use multiple rigs while crappie fishing. A couple weeks ago I bought some the dropshot hooks from VMC (see this thread http://www.kevinvandam.com/forums/viewthread/7354/) where I set up a dropshot with a 1/32oz jig on the bottom with a Gulp minnow and a crappie tube attached to the hook rig and I caught a lot of fish (mainly small bass) on both hooks.

We do that during the spring for white bass during the floods.
We rig two 1/16 oz jig heads on one line, a grub on the bottom and a tube on the top.. then if only one is producing we switch both jigs to the same thing. Works good in the current, catch everything on them. Largemouth, white bass, crappie, walleye, sauger, sheep, catfish, gar, carp, dogfish, literally everything.
Ill use a football head jig as my weight for a carolina rig from time to time. If I get more bites on the jig then I ditch the trailing plastic and vice versa.

good idea there. one of these times ill fish a carolina rig more.
The only thing I’ve done is a double fluke rig worked pretty well
How did you rig it? like KVD in his BPS video?
I’m going to try a 5” fluke as a trailer on my spinnerbait instead of a grub for the first time, it’s not a rig or anything, just something different i’m going to try.

lol thats gonna look like a freakin pike rig
Actually it looks pretty good, i got big hopes for it, i always used a 5” KALIN’s Lunker grub on before. most of the ponds i fish have no pike.
but if you look at a fluke like Zoom Super Fluke when you t-rig it the hook point lays across the back (some people then bury the tip in the back to make it more weedless). What I do - sometimes - is T-rig it so the point comes out on the belly side - again bury the tip of the hook in for weedless. This causes the fluke to fall nose down upside down - like a dying shad.

Go to BPS outdoor videos on their website and KVD has abbout a 10 minute video on a double Zulu rig he calls it. When fished it looks like 2 shad chasing each other. he uses it when fish are schooling like in the fall.

i like a T-rigged fluke….ill try it that way
I use it that way also but a few guys had suggested it as a trailer on spinnerbaits and i thought i would give it a try.
