Hey everyone! Its been a long time since I’ve been on this website. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been following KVD. The knowledge he shares is greatly appreciated! I’m a student from southern Indiana and studying environmental management. I will be transferring to Purdue University by next year to complete a bachelors degree. I have been a hardcore bank fishermen since I was a little kid with my dad, but within the past three years I have finally been able to get out on the water since I’ve bought my kayak. Also, I bought a ten foot jon boat at a yard sale for 20 bucks early this year. I decided I would give the small tourne fishing scene a shot this year. I fished 5 small tourney’s and won two of them. You should have seen the looks I got from these guys that had there $10k boats when we launched; and you should’ve seen there face at the weigh in as well. Just goes to show its not all the fancy equipment that wins, although it helps tremendously, its the fishermen! Well I’m glad to be back here and hopefully learn some stuff and have some good conversations along the way. Go KVD!

Welcome aboard!  I am a fellow Hoosier (by transplant).

This is a great forum and a wealth of knowledge!!

I guess I am the only one who lives in the Northeastern part of the state.  Who would have thought that?

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Welcome back,  and have fun.  Hope you are going to join the Purdue Bass Fishing Team,  they usually have a pretty strong showing at the college tournaments,  I don’t think you have to own a bass boat either.  They should pair you up with a boater.  Again welcome back.

I am looking to join the Purdue Bass team. I got on their website, but in all honesty its a pretty pathetic web design. They don’t give you any info about how to join, which in my opinion, should be there number one priority. I have talked to a guy who was on the team but switched to my college, Vincennes University, and said it was a good league. Hopefully your right about being partnered with someone with a boat. That would take a lot of stress out of the equation. I wonder if the school grants money for travel and fuel etc? Because we all know how much that costs!

I think it has so many advantages fishing from a kayak! Obviously, you can’t speed at 70mph across the lake, but you sure can get in some tight places. I really like it for fishing farm ponds, where boats aren’t even able to get in. And most of all, it is a cheap way to fish!

I do find that odd considering KVD is just across the border!

Yeah, me too.  With all the lakes and Bass fishing around here, I would have thought that there were all sorts of KVD fans on the forum here around Fort Wayne.  It seems like all the Hoosiers are Indianapolis and south.

I honestly thought that this website would be swarming with KVD fans! I guess maybe that people think the fishing is done for, which isn’t true, they aren’t quite as active as they would be during the main fishing season.
