River Rat had a question about Plastics. I have one about hooks
I like to keep them in the package.  I have never found a plastic Plano type box that fits the package dimesnions.
It seems odd that nobody has made a box with the holes that are made to hold the hook packaging when so many companies are using packaging similar in dimensions.

I use a BPS 360 box and take out a slider or two depending on the hook size. 3/0 and under EWG’s get 1 slider taken out while anything above gets 2 taken out.

I take the paper insert out of the package with the hooks and put it in the compartment that the hooks go in. I use a regular plano 3700 for all my hooks and sinkers. I do the same with the sinkers. I will also write the size with a sharpie in each spot.

I use a 3700 for main terminal tackle & 3600 for finesse terminal tackle with 1/2” labels from my label maker so I know what size is what.

I have a problem with the hooks not staying the compartments if they are loose…I like to have my bullet sinkers and toothpicks in the same box. I keep the tube hooks and jigs in another box

buy a box of toothpicks and spread them out in the compartments of your hook box, this will suck up moisture and keep them from rusting. there are packets as well, but toothpicks will do the same thing and take up less room.

I got one of the Falcon Hook and Sinker boxes.  It does a good job keeping the hooks separated from one another.  I also use the toothpick trick for moisture and they do a good job.

i just leave them in the package they came in because i have a small pocket on my backpack that i keep my hooks, sinkers, snaps etc… in. I don’t have every hook or sinker i own with me, i just take what i think i will need for the day.

I don’t have any problem with mine staying in the compartments.  I put part of the package label in with the weights and hooks, so I know what brand and size. I don’t write on the box because that way I can rearrange as necessary.

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.
