Some of my favorite lipless baits are SK Redeye Shad in Bleeding Firetiger & Bluegill, Xcalubur One Knocker in Chrome Black Back, & Rapala Clackin’ Rap in Yellow Perch. I wasn’t overly impressed with the Koppers Bluegill lipless baits I got last year after a great first impression(2 good size keepers first 5 casts, not much after) & I’m very interested in picking up a couple of the new Rapala Rippin’ Raps.
original ratl trap, codell super spot. i have some redeye shad and diamond shad just bought. will try them next spring. since all the water i fish is 10’ or less i have some shallow cranks from Mann’s and Bomber i’m going to try also. Colors: chrome/blue, chrome/black, firetiger, bluegill, crawdad, chartreuse
For lipless I like the Xcalibur 1-knockers in tilapia and royal shad. I’m going to get the pearl melon color too. I like Norman Fat Boys SB’s in chart/blk.
Strike King 5XD and 6XD for deep cranks
Lucky Craft BDS 3 and Strike King 1.5 for shallow water
Rapala DT-10 for mid-depths
Lipless cranks I use Strike King, Rat-L-Trap, and Xcaliber XR-50’s
I stick to shad colors, chart/blue or chart/black. Gold sexy or chrome sexy for lipless cranks.
SK 5xd and 6xd in either shad colors or chart/blue back
KVD 1.5 and 2.5. Same colors as the others but I also throw a bluegill colored crank too
SK Red Eye Shad in either chrome sexy shad, gold sexy shad, red craw, or clear sexy shad if the water is super clear.

KVD 1.5 and 2.5. Same colors as the others but I also throw a bluegill colored crank too
SK Red Eye Shad in chrome sexy shad
I did pick up some Spro Little Johns in “Old Glory.” I just couldn’t resist the color. XCalibur has smaller tail hooks on their baits. I have had the #6 hooks bend, but that was after a few pike. I guess I’m fortunate to get them back.
I like Bandits. Depending on depth I use the footloose, 100 and 200 series the most. I use 2 colors most of the time. Clear water baby bass, dirty water chartruse brown splatterback.
Right now I have 2 favorite. My first is the original xcalibur fat free shad, the bill dance version in crawdad. It is always good for at least on nice fish each time out. I haven’t been able to find the exact same color now that they are made by Bomber.
My second is the red eye shad in sexy shad color. I have been using it on the power plant lake and have caught largemouth, smallmouth and white bass all on the same 1/2 ounce lure. I will have a few extra in the box for next year!!!!

I see Bandit has got squarebills now. I’ll probally pick suim up.
Last summer I figured out how to find and fish humps at the creek mouth openings on the Alabama River.
With that said, the SK 6XD Sexy Shad was just killing them. I’d throw ‘em past them hump and bring ‘em down river over the top of that hump in 16’ to 20’ of water.
As for lipless cranks, I like the Red Eye Shads. Still trying to get consistent with ‘em though.
