I just booked a cabin in northern Wisconsin for a week vacation this summer. These cabins are on the lake Ive been fishing since I was a kid. My Gramps lives very close. I am looking forward to spending some quality time on the water with my boys and wife. My folks are also going to share the cabin with us, so it will be very cheap also. Anyone else taking a trip this year?
yea, maybe a day or 2 on Lake Erie for Walleye fishing, nothing firm on that, After last years fiasco on Dale Hollow, my fishing trips are on hold. I would like to go to Canada again.
Well, my family consists on me and my boat…...I mean wife.
The boat and I will be staying in Guntersville a few times, Ky Lake a couple times, and a few places here in Indiana.
My wife and I will be taking a cruise for our belated honey moon and will be heading to Syracuse, NY for the final Elite Series event on Oneida.
My brother & bunch of friends keep talking about getting down to this little property me Ma owns in KS, but it never materializes. I’d like to get down to KS this spring to the power plant lake near there & go after some hybrids if I can get my Uncle motivated to get his boat out there. Any trip I do take will have a couple weeks notice I’m sure, nothing big or planned too far in advance.
I am planning on spending a couple days up at Lake Okoboji in Northern IA for my tournament up there in June. As long as I am not in Basic Training, I will be at the Elite Series event on the Mississippi that is being held in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Im fishing some tournaments at ute lake here in NM, on the southern end of the state. so those should be pretty fun. I might end up going to lake Powell too.

You rent a house boat on Lake Powell? That’s something i would love to do, tow a bass boat with you, fish during the day and relax on the boat at night.

Sounds like a great time . I love northern Wisconsin in summer….I am always in the Eagle River area.
If you are going near there DO NOT MISS Butternut Lake for some incredible smallmouth fishing. I have had 50+ fish days there. Great spot.
I will be doing my normal Spring outing somewhere down south, haven’t decided exactly where yet. I go to a different lake every Spring. Last year was Cumberland, and I had a blast with 2 of my good friends. Three in one boat can be difficult at times so we decided to swap positions in the boat when someone catches a fish. If a fish has been caught the guy in the back of the boat goes to the front and the guy on the front goes to the middle. If two fish were caught at the same time you move two spots. It’s a fun way to do it. Although I can remember getting in the front and only to go directly to the back when my 2 fishing buddies both caught fish at the same time.
I have also been on Cumberland in a house boat with my bass boat in tow. What a great time that is. We found a cove with a waterfall in it and tied the houseboat up across the mouth. You talk about going right to sleep at night. The waterfall put us right out every night, it was perfect. Then you get up early, get in the bass boat and go catch fish. If you haven’t done it, you are really missing out.

I have heard alot of good things about Butternut, I will be on the other side of the state. We might take a road trip to Hayward, but probally wont bring the boat over there. I might look into that area for the future though.

I am headed to Lake Toho in Florida on February 27th for 5 days of BIG bass fishing. Also, in June 13-19 I am headed to Wiley Point Lodge on Lake of the Woods for some world class fishing for Musky, Pike, Walleye and Smallmouth. That place is incredible !!
Later in the year, I"ll take a week up at Rainy Lake on the US/Canada border for some sweet smallie fishing with a bit of Walleye action thrown in.
