A lot of the KVD footage from Bass Pro Outdoor World Classic is available on the BPS website as streaming content.  KVD spinnerbait tactics is one of them among many others.

Good deal…thanks for that info! Going there now…lol

Here’s a link to the Outdoor World TV Classic episodes for bass fishing because it can bit difficult to locate it through the Bass Pro site.

To the right of the video player under Fishing Categories, there are other species with video segments for them as well.

don’t be afraid to make multiple casts into what looks like good bass cover, like laydowns, stick-ups, rip rap, slime, ledges, over the top of grass etc. with the spinnerbait/chatterbait. i caught my biggest bass last year, the one in my signature, throwing a frog under a tree in the green slime. finally got her to bite after about 50 casts.

i am forcing myself to fish spinnerbaits/chatterbaits like KVD says in his video and on BPS outdoor world. with jerks and pauses as opposed to just reeling it in. it paid off yesterday, i wasn’t getting bit with anything. threw the spinnerbait and put a jerk or 2 on it and got bit. i am convinced it was my presentation and not the bait that caught that fish. I am also making multiple casts in places i think is holding fish, which i never used to do. started doing that late last year.

i am forcing myself to fish spinnerbaits/chatterbaits like KVD saya in his video and on BPS outdoor world. with jeks and pauses as opposed to just reeling it in. it paid off yesterday, i wasn’t getting bit with anything. threw the spinnerbait and put a jerk or 2 on it and got bit. i am convinced it was my presentation and not the bait that caught that fish. I’d really second this.  One of my baits that I’ve wanted to get more confidence with this season is the spinnerbait.  So I’ve taken to mixing up the retrieve and throwing some pauses, twitches, shakes, and jerks to make the bait more erratic.  Remember that bass are opportunistic predators, and will go for something that looks wounded.  I’m also a new convert to using a trailer hook.  Had a few short strikes last week (the only strikes on some high sky bluebird days), changed things up with some new painted blade spinnerbaits with trailer hooks and caught 3 bass in 2 hours yesterday afternoon (one of them a 6lb beauty that hit it like a ton of bricks).  All of them were well hooked and one I wouldn’t have gotten without the trailer.

Finally, match the skirt to the local forage.  There are certainly times when that neon red spinnerbait will work, but I’m finding that keeping them in tune with what the bass are used to, has more consistency, especially in the clear lakes and ponds I fish here in Indiana.

yea, i am hating these bluebird days, just makes the fishing tougher combined with 30 mph winds. makes casting from the bank a real adventure. a good percentage of the fish i catch with spinnerbaits come on the trailer hook. maybe 20-30%

i"ve been killing them for years with a spinnerbait. That and a crank bait are my go to baits. love them for covering water fast. BH
