Kevin
I’m getting ready to purchase a Hydrowave unit and like many others i do not have enough space underneath my trolling motor to mount the speaker due to a transducer and transducer protector that are installed now. i’m told that several of the Elite series pros have their speakers mounted to the side or on top of the trolling motor for the same reasons. i’m also told that it will work just as well no matter where it is mounted. would like your thoughts and reccomendations. Also again good luck at the Classic

Thank You

Not sure it would work as well if it is not submerged in the water. i don’t know much about them since i don’t own a boat, but common sense and logic tells me that if the speaker is out of the water, where sound travels 5-7 times faster and louder in the water than through the air, you got to find a place on your boat to mount it in the water.

I may be totally wrong, just makes more sense to me that it will work better in the water than out.

Ok, my mistake, the way i read it was it was on top of the trolling motor out of the water. when someone says trolling motor, i am thinking of the entire unit , in the water and out, not a specific part.  since i’m a banker, i don’t think like a boater so for us bankers you might want to be a little more specific. i should have read what you meant into your statement. my fault

The way that sound travels in the water I really don’t see why it wont work on top
