Been reading the post for a while…just joined up tonight.  I’m Joe from Virginia Beach.  My youngest son got me started fishing about two years ago.  Bass fishing mostly.  All I do is bank fishing…can’t get moma to agree a boat would be way more relaxing and rewarding.  Anyway, I’m looking forward to being an active member of the post

Welcome Joe, come on in and sit a spell.  Glad to have you aboard.  Fishing is a learning experience, you are not born with the ability to fish, so what your son can’t teach you hopefully the outstanding members of this forum can.  Ask anything you’d like and post from time to time on your accomplishments.  Nothing can replace the bank fishing time you spend with your son or any time you spend with your son for that matter.  It’s obvious that you and your sons don’t annoy mamma enough for her to make you buy a boat so all of you will get out of her hair.  You need to work on that.  Grin…

great to have you here Joe. i’m a banker also. it’s tougher to catch fish consistently from the bank but i have no other choice. whether i catch fish or not i still enjoy walking around in the great outdoors, although it is better to catch a few.

feel free to ask any questions. the outstanding fishermen on this site have a wealth of knowledge about bass fishing techniques, lures, rods, reels, boats, lakes etc… and freely share their knowledge.

no ego’s on this site. everyone chimes in with their knowledge, experiences and opinions. i have learned more in the last year from these guys than the previous 55 years of my fishing life put together. good luck on the upcoming fishing year and remember, always enjoy the time you spend with your son and not working on the honey do list, LOL

Welcome to the site Joe.  Glad to hear that your son has got you into fishing.  Hopefully that will create many good memories for you and your son.  Hopefully you will be able to talk your wife into a boat eventually.

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Buckethead Lure…I’m still too new to have a favorite color or lure…but I do like top water baits and frogs.

Welcome aboard.

My wife was resisting me buying a boat until I actually got one.  A few years ago I bought a cheap 13ft jon boat from Craig’s List and we have been loving it ever since.
