I had a tough tournament a couple years ago, no keepers, no bites no fish period. I couldnt even catch a bluegill that day. I didnt prefish and may have partaken in some adult beverages the previous night. I had about 30 mins of sleep before leaving for the derby. After that long hot day at the weigh in some guys were asking me what happened why I had no fish ect. I told them the booze from the night before was coming through my hands when I was sweating and the fish in that lake didnt like whiskey.

How many Gatorades did you drink that day? I’ve heard stories my buddies told me about grinding out a hang over on the water. Too many Put-in-Bay experiences for myself. Luckily, for me the carryout is just across from the ramp so I usually celebrate or cry in beer afterwards. Plus, they sell beer on Sundays!
” I spent more time poopin’ then fishing” Thats the best one I used lately…....and unfortunately true!
hate when that happens, i’ve went to the ponds to fish early morning before the bank sitters come and sometimes i’m screaming home with an emergency dump coming. i try to be empty before i go but sometimes you just can’t then it hits after about 10 casts.
not a lie - I actually did that once. Took a day of leave when I was stationed in Wyoming and headed to the mountains for a nice day of fly fishing. Packed my waders, fly vest (with a good supply of flies and tippet), and my rod case. Drove almost 90 miles to the Snowy Range outside of Laramie. Got to the creek I was going to start on put my waders and vest on and opened the case - empty - I completely forgot I conditioned my flyline 2 days prior and the rod was still sitting in the basement.
Took the waders and vest off and drove 90 miles home. Took me a long time to live that one down.

I left my boat keys at home once. That sucked, but I could at least fish.

should of found an old coke can and wrapped some line around it and used that as your fishing rod. illegals here do that coke can trick all the time. when the wardens come they just drop the can and run.

I used that excuse the one time. I hit the water & I thought I felt one brewing & after about 5 casts, I had to go home & was concerned about being able to make it there. And doing it there wasn’t an option, since there was 2 different groups people out on this small pond on boats. I was looking to the Little Engine that could for inspiration on that ride home. I think I can, I think I can. Oh, oh no maybe not! I think I can.
The excuse I use most often is fish are stupid, that’s why they don’t bite my perfectly placed & chosen lures.

Put my Carolina rig rod in the truck - drove partly there…but I forgot to include the worms to put on it
