It has to be closer to the site, or the site its self.  Since you say it isn’t the site, have you checked the server to router to central office?  Also have you checked the equipment, router ports and cable?  There would be some errors happening somewhere.

Can you ping the ip address of those affected when the problem occurs?

Im 15 miles south and have had no problem (traceroute shows liquid web which is just a couple pf miles from my work in lansing)

So does the KVD website run through Liquid Web?

That is where the trace route ends and I know that is what they do…host websites

I had problems this morning on both my phone and home computer (Both different providers).  I was on for a few minutes each then it redirected again like it always does.  The interesting point is I could get into liquid webs website I looked around there for about a half hour and no problems.  I would think that my path is the same if they do host.  If it does go through there then that should narrow the focus.

I am trying to be patient, but how long has this been going on?

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

How they get rerouted is not clear.  They can simply target some sites.  KVD site could be a great target for males in the 30-60 age range. They do this for profit as they get paid per vist to a site that they reroute traffic to.  “tracert” entered into the command prompt will give you the hops on a windows machine.  If you can get to liquid web you might see where the problem is…or at least get an idea.  But packets can take several routes for a large files so its not an exact science.  I would guess that the problem is a backhaul provider if your phone and intenet are affected.  Again they can both use the same fiber provider.  Infact it is likely as cells radio range for service is very limited.  If you went across the county with the phone it would likley change to antoher fiber provider and the problem would go away

I’m getting redirected a lot.  Also seeing some weird stuff here too.  My Norton has this site flagged for identity threats which doesn’t give me warm fuzzies.  I live in Lansing and use att.

The Norton thing is because of the reroute problems…not the site itself…those alert can be a little too general sometimes (BTW Not a fan of Norton)

Looks like the backhaul is through Level 3 Communitcations
might want to keep the old (working) route handy and their phone 1-877-453-8353

when the problem occures you can tell them where they differ

Good news in the lag times are all good (around 25ms) for both of you

Just spent a week in MN with my laptop and the whole time I got the messed up page. Came back home and instantly got on.
