Honestly though, I’m kind of disappointed… I didnt hear KVD say sorry even once.

S.O.B those hooks were buried!! That had to suck. Has anyone tried that way to remove a hook before? If so, how exactly is that done?

^I got one small treble stuck in my finger last year, it wasn’t anywhere near that deep & I just pushed down on it & yanked it out. On a hook job that deep, I’m thinking you’re going to the doctor or would the mono yank work on hooks that deep? The trick, or so I’ve seen, is to put some counter pressure on the hook & use slack line to pop the hook out. I’ve seen a couple guys do it & they say it ain’t that bad, but hopefully I never have to try it.

And damn, that is nasty. I hope to never get hooked like that.

Edit: Going by the pic, I’d have thought they were going hospital, but I guess they did pop it out, although I closed it when they did, I don’t need to watch those kind of things.

No thanks! I have had to remove a jig from a guys hand before. ALWAYS use braid due to the no-stretch. Everyone should know how to do this. It not too bad as long as its not in your face/ears.
Here is a short vid that covers how to do this. Notice he is pushing down on the hook to help reduce the tear from the barb on the way out (@ 2min 11s).

Can’t believe KVD kept fishing.  I get the “I’m on a school of fish” thing but you just buried your trebles in this guys arm.

OUCH!!!  Give credit to the camera man, he hung in there like a trooper.  The show must go on.  I’m still cringing… LOL

That’s how Kevin makes his money, so if he’s on a school, he’s not going to want to stop.  Besides, there was nothing he could do about it, and the cameraman knows that that is one of the hazzards of the job.  I do feel sorry for him though.  That had to hurt like a mother(bleeep).

The dude in twitch’s video hooked himself just to show you how to do it. That was hard to watch.

Nasty,  hope I never get hooked like that or ever hook anyone like that.  The camera guy was a pretty good sport thru the whole thing though.

I had a treble hook stuck in my head once as a kid.  I’m so glad my dad and uncle didn’t do that to me!!!  The hospital was so much better.

I had the chance to ask Gary Kline about this whole deal today, and he said you have to press down really hard on the hook.  He also said that Shaw Grigsby showed him how to do it after he had knelled down on a bait that hooked him right in the knee cap. He said the thing that sucked was that his knee was bent when the hook went in, and he couldn’t straighten his knee to run the trolling motor.
