Take the line off and give it to your dentist. They’ll use it.

Yeah respool that line is not very impressive. Bought it when it first came out. Big waste of money…

I just recently got some Invisx and I really like it.  When I spooled it, I did put line conditioner on it to make sure it helped reduce any memory.

It’s garbage.  I’m a big fireline guy but that stuff isn’t fireline.  I don’t know what it hell it is, but stay away from it anyway.  There is no such thing as low visibility braid.

Fireline crystal is the same as the old fireline fused line.. just a different color. As with all fused line, it is a pain the rump to mess with. Braided is much better, and fireline does offer a braid.. just not in crystal.

I also tried it a few times, never did care for it.

I’ve been using fireline since it first came out.  It’s always been a 4 strand braid.  The strands are thermally fused, but line is braided.  Crystal is garbage because something is wrong with the chemical composition.  The process of making it slightly transparent destroyed all abrasion resistance, made it even more difficult to braid than regular fireline and just ruined the line.

Fireline “braid” is just fireline that is braided together well and has more than 4 strands.  I don’t know if the strands are thermally fused or not.  Regular fireline is not braided together very well and becomes soft and flat over time.  It’s braided together about as well as Gorilla braid was.

I have a spool of fireline fused original here, the jet black one. It is oblong- not round, and feels almost like when you melt power pro. I cant see any difference between that and my fireline crystal ice line, other than color.

All braid becomes flat and soft over time.

Yeah, fireline is braided together so poorly that is is not very cylindrical out of the box.  It’s 4 strands twisted end over end.  It’s braided together in only the loosest interpretation of the word.  I’d imagine it is because the thermally fused strands are difficult to work with or Purefishing does not have access to the machines of the textiles industry needed to make a cylindrical braided product?  Fireline also has a tendency to become flat much sooner than other braids.  I imagine this is because it is braided together very loosely and quickly looses whatever little cylindrical shape it had.

I’ve never broken off with fireline, but have with crystal.  All the crystal I have used came out of the box with even less of a cylindrical shape to the line than regular fireline and horrible abrasion resistance.  Fireline has pretty damn good abrasion resistance as it frays but the frays rarely result in a strand failure as you see with the spectra products.  The texture is different with crystal over normal fireline too.  It’s pasty.

It’s so different I don’t even want to lump it together with fireline.  Crystal was a failure.

Whatever the case, as long as I can get my hands on Power Pro I will stay as far away from this stuff as possible.

I’m telling you guys its dental floss!!!! its got a wax coating as well…. I never had a cavity, because I floss with fireline crystal!
