I have 2 jointed Rapalas and both are turning on their sides and coming to the surface on my retrieve. My knots are fine and there seem to be no defects on the lures. Any help guys?

They dont have split rings. Either use a snap with them, or put a split ring on yourself.

If you dont want to do that, then when you make a cast do a real hard jerk. This will bring your knot to the center of the eye and allow the bait to work properly.

You could also try tying the rapala knot.
