Apparently this bass was caught on the Grand River here in Lansing.  It was released after being weighed at 10.4lbs and measured at 24”.  This pic was sent to me by someone who knows someone who knows someone.  It seems to big to be real.  The bass is certainly unforgettable in many ways.  What do you think?

The pic is small so it’s hard to see.  Congrats to that chick if it is real. There has to be some 10+ lb bass up here. The state record is 11.15 lbs.

Hope you catch your biggest bass ever on your next fishing trip.

I don’t know,  the pic looks a bit strange.  Plus I haven’t heard anything about it til now and you would think a fish that big here in Michigan would create a big story.

Here’s a bigger picture.  It looks like something hurt it’s back.

If that’s a 10 and a half pound bass then she has gorilla hands. I dont think she could have held it out any further. Looks like the typical farm pond 7-8lbers we see all the time.

That’s a big bass for sure. Whether it’s real or not I couldn’t say, pictures are funny that way. I’ve held 1 1/2 pounders that look like they’re 3 and held 5 pounders that look like they’re 3, so who knows.

if that WAS photoshopped, I give props to the editor cause that would take alot of skill. regardless of if its 10 or not, its still a nice fish

I’m getting a case of deja vu with that pic. I swear I’ve seen a pic with a giant bass with a notch in it’s back just like that held in the exact same position before.

I couple of months ago one of the members caught a bass and asked about it because it had a notch in it’s back.  That bass was way smaller, in the 2 lbs range.  But he was asking why it’s back was like that and everyone seemed to agree that something tried to take a chunk out of it.  Possibly a turtle.
