I went fishing with my dad this after noon, and I got my jig suck in some thick grass. when I popped it out it the jig was headed right for my face. I tried to doge it, but it hit me right in the ear hole.  It only cut my ear, and it didn’t stick in. It hurt, but I kept fishing, and after that I hooked my biggest fish of the day.

Flying jigs suck! I had a roundhead I was throwing with a grub for walleyes that got hung in the rocks, when I went to break it off I pulled & pulled until it popped free & the jig smacked me upside the head, this was with the jig stuck 60-70’ out. I looked at it & the hook was completely straightened out. I got a bit of a woozy headache & had a knot the size of a golf ball for about a week. At least you got a good fish to help ease the pain, congrats.

That is one of the many hazards of jig fishing,  hope you are good to go and heal fast.  Congrats on the big fish.

That doesn’t look like it felt too good lol. Nice bass by the way too!

That’s what I was thinking.  He might really be on to something here.  Next time I’m having a little trouble catching the fish, I might take the lure and rub it around in my ear a little.

Good thing the hook didn’t burry. I hate it when they fly back at ya. And people say fishing isn’t a contact sport. lol   BH

it’s ok, you can lose an ear and still keep fishing, had a spinnerbait hit me in the back of the head today, got hung in a tree and when i jerked it out there was just time to turn and wham. minor laceration and some blood, the impact hurt more than the stuck hooks. wasn’t buried and just jerked them out and keep fishing. my juice didn’t produve like his ear juice though.

Looks like it hurt man. Once I was fishing with my brother and he got stuck in some grass with a rattletrap. When he yanked it out, it came straight for me and one of the hooks got buried in my shoulder. So we went back up to my house and my dad cut the one hook off from the rest. Then he had to push the hook through the skin and cut the barb. Then he slipped it out of my arm. I about passed out from that. Now I never stand behind my brother when fishing.
