I went fishing the other day on a small local river.  It was a little high.  I ended up casting a a War Eagle finesse in branch over the river.  Instead of taking my time and doing the pendulum thing I got it hung up.  So I went and fetched my waders and proceeded out to get my SB.  The first step was a doozey.  It was close to 18” deep.  I’m constantly misjudging water based on the shore.  I realized that my casts need to be right on the bank because the water is most likely deeper than I think.

You would be amazed how shallow bass will go. I pulled a couple out of 6” of water yesterday literally less than a foot off shore, it was so shallow their backs were out of the water. They were up shallow chasing shad fry around.

all my bass the last few weeks have come a foot from the shore in 2 feet or less on spinnerbaits and the majority have come on the Booyah Super Shad spinnerbait in chartreuse and silver
