Well we fished the Disabled Veterans Tournament on Kent Lake today. There weren’t enough boats so some of us took 2 vets with us. I took 2 in my boat, so we had the Air Force, Army and Marines all in one boat. The first hour was tough. Great morning but dead calm with clear to slightly stained water. That lake fishes tough when it’s calm. But as soon as the wind came up, (and I could have used some power poles) the fishing switch turned on. The big fish were tough all day long as they weren’t drawing water through the dam. Couldn’t draw a bite on fast baits. So we slowed down to worm fishing and started hammering the fish. I had everyone try different color worms until we found the right one then we all put one on. In the end we were beat out of first place by 2lbs. and out of big bass by 2 oz. I believe we only culled 4 fish. The picture below is my two vets Jamie and Rob whom were both awarded purple hearts. What an honor it was to take them fishing. Sorry no pictures of fish, we were the second to weigh in and things weren’t set up quite yet.

Oh and I feel bad for KVD and the lions this Tuesday, there were boats everywhere in the tournament today. If KVD can muster 14 lbs. he can win it. I hope KVD picks a good partner through the draw cause you know Jim Schwartz only knows football.. LOL
I’m going up to watch anyway and to listen to the smack talk.
