Cant keep them off the hook, out fishing twisters and tubes 10:1. Yellow/orange color.

I may have to grab a pack of those for my dad. How are you hooking them?

I have had my eyes on those for a few weeks now. Been meaning to give them a try. Like twitch said how are you hooking them?

This is what i use(my secret weapon passed down from gramps) and the crappie, gills and even the bass love them. I caught 30+ crappies and at least 25 bass on these this past weekend. I use the fire tiger, pearl and the motor oil color.

1/32 or 1/16 jig head, orange side up. Casting around docks and stumps and reeling it back real slow with twitches, or putting it under a slip float and jigging it under docks and around stumps.

Looks like they would be more suited for bluegills or redears - but heck I’ll try anything.

were you matching color on jigheads? or does it matter?

unpainted.

They are a thick bait, hard for a bluegill to get it in their mouth. The bigger ones, 7.5-9” had no problem taking it in though.

Great tip, thanks.  Always looking for new baits an I love crappie fishing.  Your fishing them around docks and stumps, good for you?  Our crappie are in about 15-25’ of water at this time of the year.

Yeah ours mix about 50/50 (same way at the lakes in MN I fish). Half go to the docks/trees for shade, and half go out deep and suspend.
