don’t know but it feels pretty warm. bite has gotten tough right now and the water is down pushing 5 feet. Coves that were full of weeds and pads and water last year are dried up or just a couple of inches of water in them. we need rain bad. hasn’t rained hardly at all in 6 weeks to 2 months.

I’ve been seriously thinking about doing some night fishing.  I don’t want to go alone though.  I’m going to see if I can get a buddy to go with,

Night fishing is fun.. I’ve had many 30 bass nights.  I went out one night with 3 black spinnerbaits and finished with none.  I didn’t get bit off, but the fish mangled them all until they broke.  Our club has night tournaments from 8 to 8, just for something different.  I love fishing them.

What club do you fish with Geoff?  Looking to get back into a club next year.  I was in Washtenaw County Bass Masters but we disbanded about 5 years ago and I moved on to the Prop and Sail Erie tournaments, they started changing things around and upping the fees you I got out.  I still fish some tournaments mainly opens and charity events about 3 or 4 a year.  I like the Harry Bracken Open on Halfmoon but I have missed it the last 2 years because of traveling.  Hope to find something local miss the small club feel.

yea, i hear you. i’m going to give it a shot tomorrow morning about 4:30 am. that’ll give me about 2.5 hours to fish till the sun gets to high over the trees. I have heard or read somewhere that the bass are more active between 7-9 PM and 5-7 Am. Don’t know if that is true but from my limited experience fishing in the dark, i always caught more fish during those times or close to those times from the bank.

It’s not that it’s to hot outside during the day, it’s the simple fact that there is no cloud cover at all here and the water is way down from lack of rain in the ponds i fish. there is only one small pond i can fish 24/7. just got to get up and give it a try. Good Luck and have fun RR!

It’s a small club I started in 1987.  Still fishing, having fun.  About 20 members.  It’s called Bass Anglers of Michigan.  Would love to have you join.  The camaraderie is top notch.  We fish all over Michigan.  And it’s inexpensive.  $35 to join. $20 a tournament.  Just a bunch of nice guys, no cut throat stuff.  We pay out cash top 4 places and big bass.

The water temp here in Marion south Carolina was between 80 and 85 a couple weeks ago. But seeing how our temp outside is suppose to be 106 and the heat index is going to be 116 tomorrow and Sunday I would say the water temp is going to rise some.

Saw 90 today on one of the smaller lakes I fish. Shallow murky water heats up fast.

Wow TTP, throw some soap in there and they could take a bath…lol. Last weekend was 79-83, no rain yet and a few 90 degree days here so this weekend should be even warmer.

I fished a small lake this week in this crazy heat. It was about four foot low and the water was hot. I never fished water this hot but I figured it couldn’t be a good thing. I was right the bass seemed more turned off than the girls I hit on at the bars. I seen a few swimming around but couldn’t get a bite. I was about to call it a day when I threw a frog on some thick weeds and had an 18” bass smoke it. It got completely airborn grabbing that frog. I had to leave shortly after this fish but quickly power fished the area with no luck.
