Anyone have any suggestions on how to get these out? I just looked at all my heavier weights & they all have inserts, which I can’t get my rubber pegs into when the line is ran through it. I’d like to get the insert out of a few & try them to see if they’re gonna fray at all before I actually go out & buy a bunch of insert free weights. I can’t imagine not wanting my 3/4oz & heavy bullet weights pegged, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

What is the insert made out of? rubber or plastic? I’d try drilling it out. Go slow.

It’s looking like plastic, as a couple of them have the insert sticking out the end & it’s a clear looking sleeve.

If you can grab a hold of them, a pair of hemostats will work. Twist n pull
If that doesnt work, drill them out from the bottom with a drill bit just big enough to take out the plastic but not the tungsten.
If that doesnt work, hit them with a propane torch and melt that sucker out

Yea if you have enough sticking out, grab it with needle nose and pull it out. If not, try drilling like BBK said. Be careful not to create a burr on the sides as it could nick your line. I don’t know if I’d heat it though, may damage the paint.

I had some small screwdrivers laying around & I got a couple of them to pop just enough to grab & yank with pliers. A couple of them just got pushed closed, so I’ll have to drill them out sometime. The only painted ones I have are insert free, so that’s not something I need to worry about.

I use a tooth pick to push the inserts out, only had a couple I couldn’t get out.  I switched to bobber stops to peg my big flipping weights with,  they work pretty good plus I can vary the distance between the hook and the stop to let the bait move a little and not be pegged tight to the hook eye.

I’d leave them alone. Use bobber stops wink

Yeah, I think I’m done trying to get them out, had about 50% success rate in getting them completely out without gunking up the hole. I do like the new rubber stops I picked up, they’re a bit thinner than the last ones & hold really well, but I’ll wait & get some weights without inserts for when I’m using them. I’ll pick up a pack of sinker stops from TW on my next order, along with getting Carolina rig components, to try & if I ever get to BPS, I’ll pick up some of theirs, which are dirt cheap & have excellent reviews.
