No rewind on the old 8-track - you wanted to hear your favorite song again you had to keep driving around until it came up again -
I too am a little to young for CSN (I was only about 4 or 5 when they came out) - but I do like their music.
Went to High School in the early 80s listened to Billy Joel, Boston, J. Geils, Men at Work, etc… In the military I migrated over to the hair bands - Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Whitesnake, etc… Then I heard my first speed metal group - Metallica - became a metal head.
Now I’ve mellowed - most of the time I listen to Christian Conteporary but still have Ozzy’s Boneyard set as one of my favorites on Sirrus/XM radio in case I need to blow off some steam.

Hahaha….many of my friends had 8-tracks. I actually had something lots of you never heard of….I had an FM converter. There was no radio in cars except AM in the 70’s but FM was the new “hip” thing. There was a device you could mount under your dash and plug it into the radio, and you could get FM radio. There were only a few stations in Chicago (where I lived) but it was GREAT music. The unit vibrated and shook under the dash like all those 8track units mounted there too…..but it was cool.

We weren’t rich enough to have a FM converter for our car. We finally got the big console stereo when i was older, remember those?

Oh yeah. I think most of them were either Zenith or Magnavox. They had maple cabinets and a turntable inside them for record playing (ok….no smart aleck comments from the youngsters here). Problem was, they were HORRIBLE stereos. They blended in to your furniture well….but had awful sound. My old man thought it was the coolest thing. Andy Williams on his “hi-Fi”.
