I picked two up at the pawn shop for 60 bucks.  No scratches or nothing.  I’m kinda of a Shimano fan and I like Pfluegers also.  I figured what the heck I’ll try these out.  Well, I’ve been fishing with one for a few weeks and I like it.  It’s not my smoothest longest casting reel, but it’s simple, very comfortable, and performs well.  Right now I’ve got it on a 6’6” MH Veritas with 17# mono.  If they hold up I may get a few more.

Yea good reel for the price. I have 2 I use for flipping. Seem smooth enough but I think your right about the lack of long distance casting.

You seem to have gotten them super cheap, maybe look into upgrading them to the ceramic abec-7 bearings? I’m sure it would help a ton.

Abec bearings or not….as long as it’s Quantum, I’m in!

Thats a pretty nice deal, I think they retail for around $100 a piece.  I have a couple and like them as well.

The newer red ones seem to cast better than the silver ones I use a silver one on my frog rod and a new red one on my senko rod casts great

The pawn shop has had some good finds like custom Loomis rods.  No ceramic bearings right now.  I got a lot of expenses going on.  I put one on my topwater rod with 12# XT.
