I’ll take a stab at it since one of these “guys” Ive been out in both his fancy and his jon. It seems in that case it has alot to do with water levels and trolling motor only lakes. For example, which I doubt these fish came out of this Lake. If you get caught in a local res with a gas motor of any sort even attached to your boat your facing a fine and possible banishment.

Here’s a good example, The Susquehanna, where there’s boulders the size of cars sitting in spots all along the river, my buddy will suggest my tracker before his glass boat. That’s my excuse, if we hit a rock it will do less/less expensive damage. And that’s not saying i’m flying up the river because I drive like a grandmother when I’m in some spots over there. I just know if I hit a rock I’ll bounce off with little to no damage, just gotta watch my lower unit. Plus the maneuverability in a tin boat seems easier? That’s my assumption.

Some lakes I like to fish in a jon boat….....others require a little more get-up-and-go.
