A lot of Bassmaster Elite Series anglers have anointed California’s Clear Lake the new bass-fishing capital of the world. If that’s the case, then Greg Gutierrez has served two terms as king, president, prime minister, or whatever title is bestowed upon the holder of the highest office in the realm.

The diminutive firefighter from neighboring Red Bluff caught another giant bag – a pound more than on day 1 – to lead for the second straight day. If he stays on his current pace, he’ll obliterate the BASS 4-day weight record by nearly 18 pounds.
