ICAST 2010

ICAST is this week. It’s the biggest tackle show in the industry. Everybody who’s anybody will be there (Las Vegas) showing off their new products. I can’t tell you about everything, or give you much detail, until the show starts but I can tell you this will be a good year. There’s lots of new stuff for us anglers on the horizon.

Let’s start with Strike King, one of the most innovative companies on the planet. I’m a proud member of their pro staff and helped develop some of what we’re offering this year. It’s exciting.

There’ll be several new styles, sizes and colors in our Perfect Plastics line along with a number of new baits in other product lines. Add to that a couple of just out finesse worms and you can see where I’m headed. Everything has been tested by our pro staff and is certain to help you catch more fish.

The thing I’m most excited about, though, is our new 1.5 and 2.5 shallow-running crankbait series. I’m here to tell you they’re the real deal. I spent the best part of two years perfecting them with on the water use. They have an awesome action and a natural hunting action bass can’t resist. I know. I’ve fished with these baits.

And, they’ll be priced well below some of the other shallow-running models that the competition’s selling. All in all I think you’ll be as impressed with them as I am. I hope so, anyway.

Quantum will be adding several new rods and reels to the KVD line, too. There are some really neat things about them that’ll push them even further out in front of the other rod makers. I can’t wait to get started promoting them and see how you guys react to them.

My friends at Humminbird are on the move as well. They’ll be demonstrating several software advances to their depth finders that will make them even more useful even if you own one of the earlier units. Most of the upgrades will be available to current owners through their website. You won’t have to purchase a new unit.

Last, but by no means least, are my new deck shoes from Irish Setter by Red Wing Shoes. They’re pretty neat. I’ve been wearing them all year and feel they’re ready to be released to the fishing public. I’m satisfied so I’m sure you will be. They’re top-notch that’s for sure.

There’s more out there but I can’t talk about it. I don’t want to let out any secrets or mess up and say something’s ready when it isn’t. I hope you understand that. In the coming weeks we’ll talk more about all this stuff and how you can use it to catch more bass.

Remember, it’s all about the attitude.
