DETROIT LIONS / KEVIN VANDAM CHARITY FISHING TOURNAMENT QUICKLY APPROACHING

Kalamazoo, MI — KVD Outdoors — The Inaugural Detroit Lions / Kevin VanDam Charity Fishing Tournament sponsored by Bass Pro Shops will be held Tuesday, June 12 at Kensington Metropark on Kent Lake in Milford, Mich. B.A.S.S. is facilitating the tournament and will provide their tournament staging, scales and professional experience.
Anglers will be competing for prize packages that include: rods, reels, outdoor equipment, gift cards and more. In addition, Carhartt will award the top three biggest bass. The competition concludes with a weigh-in and awards dinner beginning at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Celebrities scheduled to participate in the tournament include Lions’ Coach Jim Schwartz and Lions’ players Jahvid Best, Nate Burleson, Nick Fairley, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Pettigrew, Tony Scheffler, Stephen Tulloch, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Willie Young along with anglers Tim Horton, Kim Stricker, Jonathon VanDam and Mark Zona amongst many others.
Fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the weigh-in and awards dinner where they can meet Kevin VanDam, along with Detroit Lions players and coaches, who will be available to sign autographs. Tickets are $100 (kids 12 and under are free – limit of 2 per guest) and must be purchased in advance at www.detroitlions.com or by calling 313-216-4173.
Various levels of sponsorship and participation still remain available for fishing in the tournament. Corporate levels start at $3,500, which includes two people fishing in the tournament on a guided boat with a Lions’ player. The boat and all of the equipment will be provided. Another option for fans to participate in the tournament is general entry which is $1,500 and includes three people fishing in the tournament on their own boat without a Lions’ player.
